Average customer review:Product Description
This book is designed to help students on the AQA 'AS' Level Computing course to learn the programming covered in Unit 1, and to enable the Unit 3 Practical Exercise to be tackled using either Pascal or Delphi. It will also be useful to students learning to program in Pascal or Delphi on other courses. The book covers the basic programming constructs of Pascal, including saving to different file structures. It introduces the visual development tool Delphi and explains how to use some of its many components to produce event-driven applications, including connecting to and working with data stored in a database.

Customer Reviews
A great disappointment
Since I have read some other books in this series, I was expecting more. What this book lacks is any sort of help to the reader who does not want to simply create a few columns of data and display it on the screen. Printing the data is not covered, surely a pre-requisite for most users. Neither is the use of graphics, again, an important use for many. If you simply want to create a database and display it, then this book will suffice, if you want to do more, then forget it.
