Editorial Reviews
From the Publisher
This 8th edition is the current edition of Hot Topics in
General Practice. We advise you not to buy earlier editions - they are now
out of date. We publish a number of other titles for the MRCGP exams
including: Answer Plans by Julian Kilburn (1904842011); Concepts and
Answers for the MRCGP Oral Exams by Naidoo (1904842062); Critical Reading
Questions by Stacey (1904842089). You may also be interested in Using CBT
in General Practice by Lee David (190484233X)
Customer Reviews
Bang for your buck at a price
An update of the famous book for the current year. I also have bought one other "Hot Topics" book on the market and can compare them a little. Its strengths seem to be that it has an easy layout which provides rapid (and fully referenced) updates in just about every topic you can think of. Not bad ... as all of general practice is a pretty scary remit! It's also bang up to date and well-timed for the exam intake. The only downside is that it's a few quid more expensive but medical books are pricey so I cannot niggle too much. It's seems to be well worth the extra particularly if you don't have time to do all the donkey work the loooong way
Best book for the MRCGP
This book really is as close as you can get to the "syllabus" of the MRCGP!! I bought other books but found them disappointing. This book summarises lots of key areas and is easier to read than the journals. It was the most useful book I bought for the exam. I passed!! Good luck.
If you want to pass MRCGP buy this
An updated version of arguably the best revision text on the subject. Well structured layout with up to date references to the ever-changing world of primary care. All key areas seem to be covered and a comprehensive index aids searches. Recommended.
