Bear Grylls Great Outdoor Adventure -excellent
My children bought this book for my husband as a father's day present. He is over the moon with it. It is very informative. The photographs are amazing. It gives good tips on many things for example eating "food for free" eg seaweeds, fruits, greens. It gives tips on building camp fires, kite making, mountain climbing, fishing, tree climbing to name but a few. Makes everything exciting and fun. For all ages. The kind of book you will pick up and read constantly. Well worth the money.

the new more attractive Ray Mears
I bought this as a gift for one of my best friends, a 22 year old guy who is really hard to buy for but loves anything outdoorsy or military related. Bear Grylls is the new, better looking Ray Mears. The book is a good combination of images and text and mixes personal experiences with survival skills. A great buy.

Big and Little boys "Big Book of Fun"
I am a Scout Troop Leader, and with BG now being our Chief Scout, I had to get a copy. But that aside, even if you just want to learn how to have Loads of fun safely in the big out doors this is a must have book. BG takes you through the basics in safety and technique, even how to build a Kite and fly it. I know you may think that is a simple and obvious thing to be able to do, but the number of people I see trying to fly a kite, and fail miserably!! the book is easy to read and does not patronise. BG is a true master of his skill.
