Synopsis
"Our roof leaks. My daddy says there's a hole...I know why there's a hole. There's a hippopotamus on our roof eating cake." The imaginary hippo can do what he likes on the roof. In fact, he does all the things a little girl wishes she could, but is not allowed. While she takes a bath, the hippo takes a shower; while she goes to bed, the hippo watches television. And when the roof is going to be mended, the hippo conveniently disappears - but he'll soon be back on the roof eating cake!

Hippo On The Roof3
My 17-month old daughter loves this book. The illustrations are lively and colourful. However, there is an invidious sub-text which hopefully she won't pick up on for a few years!
