About the Author
Denise Lewis MBE is one of Britain's most successful athletes. As a heptathlete (100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m, long jump, javelin, 800m), her palmares include two World Championship silver medals, a European Championship Gold, and the Olympic Gold she took at Sydney in 2000. Injury forced her out of the 2004 Olympics, but she had the consolation of finishing in the silver medal position in BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. She was awarded an MBE in 1999 and gave birth to her first daughter in April 2002.

what a fantastic book!
I highly recommned this book! I have never been that fond of exercising before, find gyms very dull and exercise videos limited. I heard Denis Lewis interviewed on the radio talking about this book. She sounded very down-to-earth and made getting fit sound very straight forward. I bought this book hoping it would be useful, but it far exceeded my expectations.
The exercises are easy to follow (with good, clear photos showing how to do each exercise), there is a summary of each exercise programme (beginners, intermediate and advanced) with photos of each exercise and how many times to do them at the end of the book (so you dont have to keep turning the page between each exercise), the programme really does take 30 minutes in full (including warm up and cool down) and you dont need any complicated equipment beyond that of a mat and two cushions!
I have a very busy and demanding life, so I dont have much time to waste (who does?) so something has to be good for me to stick at it. I do the programme 3 times a week and am starting to see the benefits (after 3 weeks) of a flatter tummy. But more than this, I have much more energy now and feel much healthier. Thank you Denis Lewis for this fantastic book!
It really works!!!
I have to say this is the best book i have ever purchased on exercising the abdominals, i have been through many books, and have never kept up with the routines, but this book is very different, the exercises are quite different, a lot of the exercises don't need you to lift your neck up but use the legs instead, i for one am very pleased as it means i don't get neck pain like i usually do when i do ab exercises, the book is very simple and straightforward and gives you clear illustrations on every abdominal exercise, you can really feel your abs working, my stomach felt like it had really been put through a workout, so far i have been following this book for four months (thats a first!!) and i am really seeing the rewards to the hard work i put in. So anyone wanting to tone their abs, what are you thinking about?? buy yourself a copy now, you really can't go wrong with this book.
Disappointing
I bought this book in the hope of getting some suggestions of some different abdominal crunching exercises, but there are not very many crunches or sit-ups at all! There are some advanced exercises which I will focus on, but most are quite simple and basic.
