Product Description

A stunning glimpse of some of Britain's finest coastline, from the granite columns of the Giant's Causeway on the Northern Irish coast and the rocky cliffs of Wales and South West England to the great open horizons of the East Anglian shore. However, this is not just a celebration of her beauty, but an investigation into the preservation and maintenance of the UK's coastline. The Trust owns a remarkable amount of coastline, looking after it not only as a landlord and at times a harbourmaster, but caring for natural habitats, archaeological sites and historic buildings. In a year when we celebrate this island nation, here is a chance to view some of the most unforgettable images of, and discover less-known truths about, our extraordinary coastline.

Truly Wonderful5
This book makes you wonder why we go abroad on holiday. The photographs are fantastic, and there is information provided about the location of each image - excellent since it makes you want to skip work, junp in your car & head for the nearest shoreline.

Stunning photography, magical places.5
The National Trust was formed over a hundred years ago to protect places in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, be they of historical interest or of outstanding natural beauty. This is a photographic collection of the coastlines maintained by the NT.

From the drama of the Giants Causeway to the remote Farne Islands and the splendour of the White Cliffs of Dover, this is a fantastic selection of pictures. Blue sea and stunning scenery - who needs to travel abroad ?

A lovely book, that would certainly inspire me to see more of our country.

A book for lovers of the great outdoors!5
It's quite difficult to review a book like this given it has no plot, characters or conclusion. But rest assured, it'll take your breath away. Featuring stunning photographs and details on where each was taken - this book is the story of the UK's coastline and the great work The National Trust is doing to preserve it. Most captions give the history of the place in question, when it was acquired by The Trust and what work, if any, is done to help keep the place safe and beautiful for those who wish to visit.

This book will inspire all but the most stoic couch potatoes. Those that love the outdoors and the British countryside will want to abandon everything and get out there right away! A truly stunning book and a great way to introduce places you'd perhaps never think of going before - but you will now!
