Warning!!!!!
A word of warning with regards the review by "A Customer" above. The artwork in "The Third Element" is entirely in the old black and white style. The are no colour stories at all. It's still a cracking read though.
Increase the Peace
If you like ABC Warriors and/or Clint Langley's art then you can't go wrong. It also serves as a great introduction to the Warriors for those who are not familar with them and their exploits. Langley's art is beautiful as always. Even if you don't buy this book, go and look at some examples of his work. There's not much more I can add. Needless to say I can't wait for the next installment.
Looks like something id scribbled
Sorry...but this really didnt do it for me.
I am a huge fan of the ABC Warriors, right from their appearance in 2000ad and in the reprints/graphic novels. So Im sorry to say that this left me a little flat. Its hard to tell if there is a good story there or not, it sounds like there should be....seven hard as nails meks take on the abc warriors..loads of scope i would have thought. But the problem is the art work distracts you from the story. After every second or third turn of the page, i would be taken aback by how childlike and rushed the artwork seemed. It really made me wonder if the great Mr Esquerra and Mr Flint where under a fair bit of time pressure to get it done. Its not that i dont like Mr E and Mr F's artwork, I thought the work on Judge Dredd was amazing. And to be honest, who is better than Mr E? Noone. But both artists seem to have scribbled the story on a coffee fuelled all nighter.
Sorry..maybe it went over my head....but, just not for me...
