Average customer review:Product Description
Barry Ween is every boy's fantasy personified. His intellect is beyond any that has existed before. In his presence, Einstein looks like a moron. Working in the secret lab in the back of his house, Barry slowly inches towards dominating the world, and he would, too, if the laws of chaos weren't so strongly enforced. Protecting obnoxious aliens seeking asylum, getting transported to the pedophilic old west, being kidnapped by bungling government agents - it's all par for the course with Barry. It's tough being ten years old and smarter than everyone else, but no one is going to attack the task with as much gusto as Barry Ween. A hilarious experiment mixing mad scientist movies, the Little Rascals, and words little kids aren't supposed to say.

Customer Reviews
READ THIS BOOK!!!!
I was told to read this book by one of my customers, who assured me that "It's not neddy, honest!...But he does swear a lot."
That alone put me off.
However, I gritted my teeth, opened the book, read the first page....And fell totally in love with the characters within. This is the funniest, smartest, sweetest comic I've read in a long time. Sure, Barry DOES swear a lot. Sure, he's obsessed with sex and sure, the humour's kinda puerile...But therin lies the charm.
I only gave this five stars because I can't give it more...I am more than willing to give up some of my precious bookshelf space to collect this series.
GO READ THIS!!!
In the beginning, there was the Ween...
Judd Winick's first collected edition of Barry Ween stories provides telling insights into the character of the eponymous anti-hero and his supporting cast. Quite how it does this through a raging torrent of expletive-laden side-splitting humour is quite beyond me, though none the less entertaining for it. Given the pre-existence of South Park, and now the similarly-entitled but TOTALLY different Jimmy Neutron - Boy Genius cartoons, it is highly unlikely that we'll ever see Winick's creation on the screen. Shame. Barry Ween is the ideal entertainment for those of us whose sense of humour stopped developing during the early years of puberty. Try it, you know you want to, but don't blame me if you get hairs on the palms of your hands.
Laugh? I thought I'd never get my trousers dry!
Barry Ween has an IQ of 350 and attitude to match. If foul-mouthed sex-mad ten year olds with a sense of humour firmly embedded in the lower reaches of the toilet amuse you, then this is the book for you. Judd Winick - you're a genius.
