Synopsis
The fascinating professional and personal life of one of today's most talented actresses is revealed in this biography of Diana Rigg, one of the sexiest women ever to grace the television screen. Rigg's high-profile roles are detailed -- from the brilliant and seductive British agent Emma Peel in "The Avengers" to one of the most intelligent and impressive of James Bond's women (and the only one who actually gets to marry him) in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". Rigg's time with the Royal Shakespeare Company and her current stage career are also profiled. This book tells the story of a rebellious and outspoken woman who has always lived life on her own terms, defying both convention and authority.

Cut and paste?3
Undoubtedly Diana Rigg is as fascinating as she is alluring, as smart as she is iconic. Made famous by a role 40 years ago which a lifetime of classical theatre and plaudits haven't obscured, the most intriguing take on Dame Diana's life would be her own but as she appears unwilling to take on that particular role up to now it's left to this book to offer the next best thing.

A plus of the book is that it includes many quotes from the Divine Diana, showing both her intellectual and her pomposity-pricking sides in interviews over the years. In fact, you soon realise that apart from a few interludes from the author to present a chronological context the really entertaining words are all Rigg's own, her self-deprecating humour and candour just adding to her essential and immortal 'M. Appeal'.

As a biography this is far from perfect, little more than a collection of quotes sourced from magazines and newspapers down the years, wrapped up in a basic life story, but it provides an easy and fairly informative read.

The Avengers5
To me & my daughter Diana is the best of the Avenger ladies so this book is essential to Avenger collecting.
