The final book in a four-volume illustrated series from two established experts which looks in detail at the uniforms of the elite cavalry troops of Emperor Napoleon the First's Imperial Guard - from Marengo to Waterloo. In this new volume, Napoleon's late period cavalry troops - those that he hoped would make his Imperial Guard the model for a great European army - are all illustrated in over 50 pages of colour plates: gendarmes; honour guards; horse artillery; and Lithuanian tartars. Their rich and various uniforms, their flags, insignia and equipment are all recreated in over 50 pages of full colour plates using the very latest computer graphic technology. There is always a huge market for Napoleonic uniform books - modellers, wargamers, uniform collectors, strategists.

A must have for Napoleonic fans
Anyone interested in uniforms and equipment of the French Napoleonic army should have a copy of this book in their collection - along with the others in this series. Each section of the book starts with a brief description of that particular regiment (or type), followed by clear full-colour drawings of the uniforms, arms, saddles etc. There are accompanying notes with each drawing giving a precise description - often stating from where the information was gathered.
Whether you are interested in model painting, re-enactment or simply the napoleonic era in general this is an invaluable series to possess. I just wish the books were available in my youth when I had the time to paint both pictures and figurines!
