A charming introduction to the Way of Wisdom and Compassion
This is a beautifully crafted compilation. The style is reminiscent of Aesop's Fables, but the ancient, timeless content reflects the teachings of the Buddha. Each of the twenty stories has some moral point. Some are driven home poignantly when the reader remembers that the author, Princess Noor Inayat Khan, gave her life for the cause of freedom. In the second world war, she was parachuted into occupied France and worked with the Resistance. She was finally captured and killed by the Nazis. Her codename was - 'Madeline'. This book should stand forever as a memorial to selfless heroism.
