Synopsis
Swara Yoga is the ancient science of pranic body rhythms which explains how the movement of prana can be controlled by manipulation of the breath. Recently, modern science has taken great interest in electromagnetic fields and the behaviour of bioenergy, which is the inherent energy principle of the body. With exciting development accelerating in such areas as bioenergetics, psychotronics and kirlian photography, the science of swara yoga is now in great demand.

valuable knowledge
This is a good introduction to a little known branch of yoga but it has some drawbacks. For instance it doesn't explain how the swara are related to the branches of the autonomic nervous system and how, therefore, unilateral forced nostril breathing can be used for conscious manipulation of mood and energy levels. Similarly, it is not explained how to change the swara with the posture known as dradhasana.
However, an imaginative and adventurous reader can devise their own experiments once they have the basic idea and, as I have, add a valuable practice to their repertoire of yogic practices.
Swara Yoga
As with all Bihar books this is well writte, informative and worth having. It's espcially good because it fuses science and yoga so well. If you're into pranayama it's worth a read. I haven't finised it yet, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the book.
