Starting with an historical overview of road vehicles, this work goes on to deal with the forces exchanged between the vehicle and the road and the vehicle and the air with the aim of supplying the physical facts and the relevant mathematical models about the forces which dominate the dynamics of the vehicle. The second part deals with the dynamic behaviour of the vehicle in normal driving conditions with some extensions towards conditions encountered in high-speed racing driving.

Car Dynamics Bible
This is one of the two books that are absolutely essential in the area of car dynamics and simulation. (The other being Racecar Vehicle Dynamics by milliken).
It is complex material that is covered, although it is put across well. It does not cower away from maths, which is essential if you need to get into good detail.
I think what it does lack is examples, a few more examples using real figures would substantially aid understanding.
Its ideal for creating simulations, or perhaps as an aid to an engineering course.
