Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
In a desperate attempt to repair the damage he's done to Whistler's Mother, Mr. Bean executes an elaborate James Bond style mission to the art gallery where the trouble started. As he skateboards madly about, Howard Goodall finally gets the chance to let rip with a dizzying version of his "Bean Theme" (not to be confused with his TV motif). It's appropriately subtitled "Mad Pianos", since two players are following a complex scale pattern over the top of the sweet simpleton's melody. It makes the set-piece of the film dramatic and hilarious at the same time. This is the only cue of Goodall's on the album, with the remainder taken by the pop songs that accompanied montages of his Los Angeles exploits ("I Get Around"--The Beach Boys; "Walking On Sunshine"-- Katrina & the Waves). Although right at the end there are dialogue cuts through Bruce Dickinson's emphatic wail that he wants to be "Elected", the opportunity for a comedy souvenir album is missed. It's a sunny piece of nonsense nonetheless. --Paul Tonks
