Customer Reviews

A Music collection essential5
Drugstore are one of the most under-rated bands in the UK and this there second album is a welcome return. Its sheer range is fantastic however the common link is how well written the songs are and how meaningful they are to the listener. People I know have cried listening to this album. Space Girl is one of the best songs of longing "I wanna be a space girl" and yet is also very very upbeat. The music will make you feel great lift you up when you are down and yet let you know its Ok to be down in the first place. A very emotional album. The songs on this album are very accesible and if you like your music to mean something then this really is a record you should buy.

must have.5
Some records are timeless. This is one of them. The songwriting is confident - the expression of a band at their creative peak. For me it's the ultimate combination of a Saturday night rock/Sunday morning hearbreak soundtrack. People tend to point out Thom Yorke's involvement on El President as the highlight but for this writer ' I know I could' and 'Sober' are the albums highlights.

'Say Hello' remains a brilliant statement/opener and 'Space Girl' builds from nothing into a Deus like belter.

Released at the time of the nonsense, hollow and infantile UK 'BritPop' fad, 'White Magic...' was ahead of it's time but for a band that has always been beautifully out for sync with trends this album deserves to be listened to. Again. And again.

Stunning.5
I'd recommend buying this album for the song 'President' alone, featuring the brilliant Thom Yorke. A heart rending vocal performance from the Radiohead frontman which really elevates the track. Apart from that the rest of the album lives up to my expectations. Stunning.
