Customer Reviews

A masterful interpretation of real life in the eighties.5
This recording typifies life in the eighties, from under the flag part 1 you know what you are going to get from this album. Raw unadulterated defiance to so-called economic "good years". wheels of fortune is a masterpiece and should have been released as a single. Fad Gadget did not conform to the electronic eighties formula which made his albums all the more enjoyable. There was only one person who could make music like Fad Gadget and no-one would ever be able to make the same type of political statements in their music with the same subtlety. Fad was almost unheard of in the eighties and it has taken nearly twenty years for his genius to be appreciated.

Early electronic classic5
I was 14 years old when I was first blown away by this album in late '82. Being a big Depeche Mode fan (both then and now) I bought the album on the basis of a Fad Gadget track on a free Flexi-Disc (anyone remember them?!?!) and the fact that Fad Gadget was on DM's lable Mute. Darker in mood than early DM (an album affected by the recession of the early 80s & the Falklands conflict) this album has lots of synths and programmed beats and is a must for anyone who loves electronic music. An obscure delight from the early 80s.

Turn up your stereo and blow up your bass speaker!!5
This album is superb! It has been produced really well and will fill your room with plenty of deep sequencer and synth sounds. There are a couple of "weird" tracks but a Fad Gadget album would not be complete without them. Fad Gadget is a genius and this is a superb album....Buy it!
