Editorial Reviews

CD Description
After nearly a decade as one of the world's top hard rock bands, Grand Funk called it quits not long after the release of 1976's GOOD SINGIN' GOOD PLAYIN'. While the legendary Frank Zappa was on hand as producer, resulting in another fine album for the band, the album went largely unnoticed since it didn't spawn a huge radio hit as did GFR's earlier albums. The closest thing to a hit remains "Crossfire", which stillpops up on classic rock radio nowadays from time to time, while fans of Frank Zappa will want to check out the lengthy instrumental "Out To Get You", on which he plays a great guitar solo.

Thank you and goodnight!!5
No this isnt a live album. It is infact Grand Funk Railroads last album with the line up of Mark Don Mel and Craig the classic Mark 2 personel. after Terry , Todd,Jimmy, and finaly Frank Zappa in the production chair ,A new Railroad began to imerge! Crisp sharp deep and loud . a few different styles show through, the track We`re Out to Get You, Good Singin Good Playin is a stormtrooper!!Capped off whith a blisterin` Lead guitar solo by Mr Zappa himself. Mouthwatering stuff. Crossfire,Just couldnt wait,Can you do it, are bubbling rock `a` longs and everyone seems to be having fun.. As a swan song I think they rose to the occasion!!

My faviurite Grand funk album4
I have been waiting for this for years, all the tracks off of the original plus one extra.

So why only 4 stars, well I think something has been lost in the transfer to CD, sound not quite as clear as I would have expected.

Still a great CD and well worth buying for the enormous guitar solo by the late Frank Zapper!
