Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Released during the era of leisure suits and pet rocks, the film Superman: The Movie has aged about as well. But the often clumsy charms of Richard Donner's cartoonish, hit-and-miss take on the Man of Steel was blessed with at least one superlative artistic effort: John Williams's epic score. The composer's Oscar-nominated music (coming on the heels of Star Wars and Close Encounters) was a wall-to-wall heroic symphony, rife with memorable melodies and ominous arrangements. Almost every original cut on this soundtrack appears in an expanded version, supplemented by nearly a dozen previously unreleased cues and alternate takes. This is the definitive release of one of Maestro Williams's greatest scores. --Jerry McCulley

A Masterpiece
Possibly the most perfect film score ever composed presented in its entirety and gloriously packaged. John Williams' music is simply perfection and remains the definitive superhero soundtrack. Experience a master at work. It is worth every penny.
JOHN WILLIAMS THE SUPERMAN OF COMPOSING GREAT MUSIC.
Probably one of the few soundtracks that actually sounded, as incredible as the film itself when it was released.
John Williams really brings the greatest legendary character to life in the 20th century.
When you hear the Superman theme tune, it makes you want to stick on a bright red cape and fly right out of your bedroom window. (CAUTION Don't really fly out of the window.) HAHA John Williams really has made a epic soundtrack to a epic blockbuster, the music blends exactly with every scene of the film.
As me being a true Superman film I usually play the whole movie through my head when playing this incredible CD. It is worth the money and worth spending a couple of hours just listening to this soundtrack. Lets only hope they release the soundtracks for Superman 2, 3 and 4.
John Williams at his best!
People have been waiting for over 20 years to hear the complete soundtrack to one of the greatest movies ever made and here it is in all its glory!.. Two CD's crammed with music and 5 different versions of the amazing theme tune. I really hope they release the soundtracks to the other Superman films because your collection would not be complete without them!.
