The avengers are needed5
Firstly the avengers is a classical british series , that is full of bowler hats ,leather catsuits, adventure and comedy. This 1965 set is the emma peel years (by many the best). Diana Rigg plays an excellent avenger by giving her qualities of intelligence, elegance , wit, sport, beauty . She is what i call a "complicated" quintessential lady. then offcousre there is steed (Patrick MacNee), the perfect gentleman whos eemingly has a thing for emma although this is never mentioned in black and white. There chemistry on screen is first class. 1965 is one of the best with fantastic episodes which really sum up all the graet things about the avengers. Very much worth the money!

Early Avengers4
These two DVD discs contain the very early Emma Peel episodes dating from 1965. On the whole, most of them are rather good. The Cybernauts is quite funny, although it wasnt meant to be at first! Best episodes are The Town of No Return; Death At Bargain Prices and The Master Minds. Fans will have their own choice though. Once again, picture is very good, and more than acceptable sound.

a rare piece of televisual magic...5
I bought this as I remember this series being shown on channel 4 in the early eighties, and seemed to remember liking it. What a fabulous series, with this particular dvd being a real gem. The later series (also available in colour) is also great, but this one seems to benefit from being in black and white. If you like your classic tv, you'll LOVE this.
