Amazon.co.uk Review
In Glorious, Eddie Izzard's stand-up routine takes a little bit of Robin Williams, a little bit of Jerry Seinfeld, even a little bit of Bob Newhart, but the final mix is absolutely his own and dizzily funny. It's not so much the subjects of his humour--though not many comics make jokes about classical mythology or evil giraffes--as it is the way he fluidly skips from thing to thing in a madcap free-associative whirl. He lulls you by seeming casual and almost sloppy, but when he needs to be precise his gestures and mimicry are razor sharp. There have been a million tired jokes made about trying to get a shower to stay at the right temperature, but Izzard manages to make even that funny. He's even funnier when he's imitating Sean Connery as Noah, trying to convince God that a speedboat would make a much better photo opportunity than an ark, or playing a beekeeper flirting with someone passing on the street. Much of the giddiness comes from his astounding sense of spontaneity. Half the show seems to have been made up on the spot, and if it wasn't, your mind boggles wondering how he could have possibly written something so ridiculous and yet appropriate. Though he uses a number of four-letter words, his humour is surprisingly clean, and even the most frank vulgarities seems like a bit of impish innocence coming out his mouth. Glorious indeed. --Bret Fetzer, Amazon.com

Laugh Out Loud Comedy
Eddie is a comic genius. In this dvd he takes you through from the beginning of time, through the Book of Revelations, right back to present day. Highlights have to include the Evil Giraffe, The Grim Reaper trying to get more up-to-date, James Mason as God, Sean Connery as Noah, and my personal favourite with the beekeeper, "And he said, Aaaagh I'm covered in bees!"
This dvd can be watched many times over, and really it just gets better with each viewing. It is Eddie's over the top observational routine that set him apart from the rest...well, that and watching him tottering around in high heels and a shiny Jean Paul Gaultier suit! Simple stuff, yet highly effective and universally accessible.
However, there is an extra bonus with the dvd. 'Lust For Glorious', a spoof promotional piece supposed to be helping him 'break' the American market. This is where Eddie is told he has been born in France, or that is what his audience in America must believe. Following this announcement, the viewer gets taken on a tour of a small French village with Eddie making up stories of his childhood, which seem to include an awful lot of getting his head stuck in things! And then there is the sex, and rock and roll behaviour to follow....
Overall, this dvd is extremely watchable, on your own, or with friends. It will make you laugh a lot, so prepare for a good belly workout from this one.
Stroke of Genius...It's that good
This is without a doubt Eddie Izzard's funniest stand up show on the market. Eddie brings his usual brand of intellectual humour commenting on subjects such as the Old Testament, and God creating the world and the Siege of Troy and his experiences with marital arts, all of it comic gold. I particularly enjoyed his comments on archaeology on TV and if you don't think that can be funny you are wrong. A testament to how go a comic Eddie is, is that he requires no props, where other stand up comics require the use musical instruments or magic tricks to get through a show, Eddie just starts talking and you don't stop laughing. A true Masterpiece, 5 out of 5.
Eddie Izzard is simply a genius
Definately the funniest video I've ever watched.
From Dogs with deep voices and beards to being covered in bees!, Eddie Izzard covers all the day to day situations we can relate to and more!
If you like to laugh yourself till it hurts this is the video for you.
The mind boggles at how he can simply come up with the material he uses. But one thing's for sure you'll love it.
