Napoleon 1812 The Road to Moscow DVD
This was a interesting DVD with lots of facts concerning the French march into Russia and the consequences of being drawn further and further into the Russian countryside. It was very graphic with its scenes, especially of the retreat and freezing soldiers. Whilst the DVD tries to suggest that Napoleon was the greatest General alive at this time, it actually shows that Napoleon was not a great General, in that for the second time in his career, he left his troops to die or be captured by the Russians while he fled back to France. Napoleon also fled from Egypt and left his troops to be captured by the British and again at Waterloo, he escaped and fled from the Battle. He took the credit when he was winning but left his troops to fend for themselves when he was losing.
