Customer Reviews
Christy still has what it takes!
Just received the CD. It captures perfectly the atmosphere and intimacy of a Christy Moore concert. Old jewels combined with his beautiful new stuff proves that he still has what it takes to be considered as one of the best performers of all times. 35 songs of pure magic.
Can't wait to receive the DVD!
Terrific! Christy does it again!
My husband and I drove all the way from the German Alps to Dublin to see this concert - and it was worth every minute in the car! What a master Christy is - he had the audience in the palm of his hand from the moment he came on stage. He sang old favorites and new songs, as well; the crowd loved everything he did. Declan Sinnott is also a treasure - the two of them together are amazing. Highly recommend!
Alive with Life
It can be said that live albums are only ever good if you have been to a show on that tour, meaning they act as a reminder for a great live experience. I don't know. I have not seen Christy Moore live for nearly ten years, but this CD is better in many ways than his studio albums. For one thing, the sound quality is excellent, but more importantly I think both Christy and Declan (guitar) are singing and playing extremely well, full of emotion and life - truly live in other words. This CD captures something lost in the studio process.
I bought the CD after buying the DVD - one for the house, one for the car - and was very pleased to find many more tracks on the CD, another good reason to buy both.
