Customer Reviews

The best compilation of Tabu Ley Rochereau5
This album has helped me rediscover Tabu Ley. Great songs, sweet vocals and some cracking performances from a 'golden age' of Congolese music. What more could I want? Oh yes, a thick booklet with lots of info and photos that help put it all into context. Treatment like this, for an artist as important as this, has been a long time coming. But now it's arrived. Unreservedly recommended.

Wonderful5
I've been listening to African music for some years, but all I knew of the "Golden Age" of Congolese music was from a couple of compilations. On the basis that I had one or two songs by Tabu Ley and I liked them, I took the plunge and bought this collection. Even on first hearing I knew that this would become one of my favourite CDs. Every single track is a delight, and the music sounds fresh and clear despite being recorded decades ago.

Certainly recommended to anyone - like me - who has a vague interest in African music and wants to expand their knowledge further.
