Editorial Reviews

Album Description
As soulful as she is sophisticated in her distinctive vocal stylings, five-time GRAMMY®-winning superstar Dionne Warwick is a globally beloved music icon and humanitarian. Warwick first climbed the charts in 1962 with her debut hit single, "Don't Make Me Over," penned by Burt Bacharach and Hal David--she emerged as the foremost interpreter of their compositions, and remains so. Over the course of an illustrious, hit-filled career that's endured more than 45 years and spans five decades, Warwick has also become a true contemporary music legend. With the inspirational WHY WE SING, she builds on her legacy with a new studio album, following up a duets collection and her first-ever holiday music release. It will, no doubt, also remind us why we love Dionne Warwick.

Why She Sings!5
Dionne returns with her first album of new material for some time; an album of gospel and inspirational songs "Why We Sing". First I have to say I'm a big fan of Dionne but know little about gospel, but here you will find Dionne at her soulful best singing music that is uplifting and passionate. Dionne's voice may not be quite as powerful as it was back in the "Heartbreaker" era, but she has the ability to interpret lyrics perfectly. The production and arrangements are all first class. She is accompanied by her sister Dee Dee on the title track, her son on the soul/pop track "Seven" and by a wonderful gospel choir on many of the others. Dionne's style and the elegance shines throughout this album. I find this CD is a refreshing change in style to most of my collection of soul and pop, try it.....you may just learn about Why She Sings!.

Worst Album I have heard in a while1
Given to me as a gift, this album is in my opinion the Worst I have heard in a while. I shall now be passing it on to someone else. Miss Warwick made a mistake having this released. I cannot say I like even one track. However as I said before THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION. Others might love it.
