Great entertainment
It's funny as most people wouldn't consider fishing to be overly entertaining. However, when you are fishing in one of the World's deadliest seas and coping with terrible seas as well as vicious cold and wind you soon become addicted to the boats and their crews. In essence the series is split between two seasons - catching King Crab and Snow Crab (Opelio). We get to watch from the warmth of our own homes how these crews put it on the line for substantial financial reward. At times it is difficult to understand what keeps motivating the men to do this even with the vast sums of money they can make. We follow the back breaking labour, long hours (22 hour shifts are quite normal) and all the mechanical problems they can suffer as well as the beatings they get from the weather. It is a great series and one I thoroughly enjoyed. I respect all the crews but I always enjoy watching Sig and the Northwestern!! Buying this boxset is not only excellent value (there is hours of viewing here) but a real insight into Crab fishing in Alaska and the limits these men push so that people can eat crab!! A must have.

simply brillant
i watched the series on discovery channel and loved it so when i saw it was being sold on here i just had to get it. it is one of the deadliest jobs in the world and i love watching it, its brillant. can't wait til i can buy the third series.

One of the best series` on tv.
I watched all of the series` on Discovery,and it is one of the best i have seen.The
danger that these fishermen go through up on the Bearing sea to bring live crab to
the fisheries to go out on the tables of America and far beyond.
The fishermen really go through the mill,but also do the cameramen.They go through the same hard dangerous ordeal as the fishermen,but where the fishermen do this every year and are hardened to the conditions the cameramen are out on the deck filming all through out the series,detailing all the trials that each of these men
and the coastguard go through.I will not say anymore or it will spoil it for you
