COSMIC
I love Don Airey and the work he's done with DP, Rainbow, Ten and others, so I was really looking forward to this cd. I was not disappointed. There's a definite Purple/ELP vibe running through the cd, as you'd expect, with some great performances by the guest musicians. Special mention to the great vocals by Carl Sentance (who is he and where did he come from??) and Harry's drumming. Don's keyboard skills are shown to the full, so if you're into Rainbow, Purple etc you'll love this cd. I do.
Truly brilliant
I saw this performed by Don Airey, Carl Sentance and friends the other week and was absolutely bowled over. Very prog-rock, very key boards, very DP etc etc - but Don gives this his own special edge. On the CD, the vocals are shared by Carl Sentance and Danny Bowes (hey - he's SO good on this)- and then of course there is the great Harry on drums (if you don't know who he is, then I won't explain).
Listening to the tracks the first time, you are not sure whether you are going to be treated to a feel-good sing-along, a piece of tremendous classical music, blues jazz, or good old spaced out groove.
I can really recommend this - particularly to anyone of the DP, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath era.
