FinePix J10 Features and Benefits
No fuss controls.
The layout of buttons has been designed so that the camera body remains uncluttered and can be operated easily with one hand. Featuring explanations for each shooting mode, scene position, and control setting, the interface is designed to take the guesswork out of selecting camera settings.
All-in-all the FinePix J10 is so easy to operate that even the youngest members of the family will be able to use it with minimal instruction.
3x Optical zoom.
The camera's 3x optical zoom has been especially developed by Fujinon, the division of Fujifilm responsible for lens manufacture, which is also a leading provider of broadcast-grade television lenses.
The FinePix J10 lets you enjoy a range of picture-taking options, from atmospheric wide-angle scenes to dramatic close-ups.
High resolution 2.5-inch LCD screen.
The FinePix J10 features a large high-resolution 2.5-inch, 235,000 pixel LCD screen, which has a reinforced glass coating for scratch-free durability. In addition, the LCD screen is coated with an anti-glare surface to increase visibility when framing or reviewing images in bright sunlight, which means that sharing your images with others is easier than ever before.
Convenient xD and SD compatibility.
If you already own a camera, but are thinking of upgrading to this model, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to consider any additional expense of replacing a perfectly good memory card.
The FinePix J10 features an xD/SD compatible slot, allowing the use of either xD Picture Card, SD or SDHC media to store and transfer your photos.
This will give you the flexibility to buy the card you want, use cards from previous cameras, or choose the media that fits with your other desktop devices like laptops, PDAs or card readers.
Internal memory.
The FinePix J10 makes it possible for you to get that picture even if your memory card is full. The 12MB internal memory built into this compact ensures that you will never have to miss that special shot.
Think of it as your internal insurance policy for photo opportunities. With that said, the main storage for images on the FinePix J10 should be an additional xD card, which will allow you to accommodate almost as many images as you like.
A low light marvel.
Photos taken in low light are the ones that are most likely to produce disappointing results. Limited flash range and direct light can mean the foreground is harshly lit and the background lost all together. If the flash isn't used at all, the image can suffer from digital interference called 'noise' as the sensor struggles to pick up all of the detail in the scene. Moving images can be blurred as the camera keeps the shutter open for longer to allow as much light in as possible.
So Fujifilm has put 70 years of experience in imaging into fine-tuning the light sensitivity and flash systems of its cameras. You wouldn’t normally expect a camera placed at such an affordable price point to feature such technology but Fujifilm have and we can assure you, it does work to help you take better pictures.
Anti blur.
The camera's Anti-blur system increases its ISO setting and associated shutter speed, so that the shutter can open and close much more quickly, thereby freezing moving action without blur - perfect for school sports fields.
When a still image isn't sufficient, the FinePix J10 movie mode, at 30 frames per second, captures movie clips with sound that are limited in length only by the size of memory card used.
Ease of use.
The camera is preset with an extensive selection of scene modes which make it ready to shoot anything from days at the beach to party portraits in an instant. There's even a 'Baby' mode to ensure those all important pictures of baby's first years look spot-on, with skin tones faithfully reproduced.
Simply select a Scene Position that suits your situation and the FinePix J10 automatically selects the appropriate shutter speed, exposure and white balance to ensure that you get the most of your photography; more stunning pictures, less hassle.
Create your own 'Slideshow'.
The FinePix J10 features a multitude of options for sharing images once they've been taken, enabling you to share your precious moments again and again with Fujifilm’s new in-camera ‘Slideshow’ function, which displays images one-by-one.

Perfect little Camera
I bought this as a replacement for the Sony-WD130 which I lost - and its grown on me very quickly! I picked it out because its ultra light (about 3oz), fits in to pocket like a wallet and has no protruding edges or dails... perfect for a night out!
Compared to my previous cameras - I think fujifilm have done a great job in keeping it streamlined and not over complicating it - Dont be put off by the absence of the flash bulky dials because its all been built in to the easy to the user friendly screen menu and has a wealth of options - I think this is the way most digi cameras will go...
dont be put off by the low price - it really is a perfect compact little camera with mighty power and will probally be a huge seller..
Fantastic
I brought this camera as a replacement for a Samsung S1065, which immediately froze multiple times whenever i tried to use it, plus the batteries ran out in 1/2 hour usage.
Anyway, The Fujifilm Finepix J10 is a very aesthetically pleasing camera with a brushed aluminium front (black or silver) and aluminium back. This camera certainly feels as if it can withstand some serious knocks. The form factor for this camera is certainly compact; this is enabled by the use of a Li-Ion rechargeable battery, rather than your standard AA Alkaline batteries. This charges fully in just over 1.4 hours and provides very reasonable battery life.
The features on this camera are simple and necessary; there is no facial recognition or 9 point automatic focus. But what it does do, it does fantastically well. I have a Canon EOS10D Digital SLR camera for professional work, brought this fuji for the odd point and shoot session. The built in scenes work incredibly well, and do exactly what they are supposed to. The 8 MegaPixel Sensor inside this camera produces large photos that will easily print out up to A4 photographs and the single point Auto focus is very good at making your subject nice and sharp.
Fujifilm are renowned for producing cameras that capture vivid colours and the J10 is no exception, the colours are vivid and stand out (whilst not being overpowering). The flash copes well in both day and night situations.
The menu system for this camera, some say, is too simple and not intuitive. I disagree with this view; I find the minimalistic menu and navigation buttons easy to use, and a refreshing change from a complex DSLR camera. The J10 is an awesome camera for any beginner, or (like me) someone who wants a good quality point and shoot camera for the odd days out.
Connectivity to XP and Vista was simple, no drivers, no software, just plug in the provided USB cable and access the camera as an external disk. Addition: After having the camera for a few months, i can confirm that compatibility with Mac's is naturally excellent!
The only negative point about this camera is the animation it shows when deleting images; it deletes the image in blocks, each block revealing a blue background. So the deleted image seems to break up and fade away. There is no option to stop this animation, possibly room for improvement in a future firmware upgrade. However this single negative point can easily be overcome, by purchasing a larger memory card and not deleting photos until you get home and load them onto your computer.
All in all, the Finepix J10 by Fujifilm is a highly recommended camera with no unnecessary bells and whistles but the ability to produce a fantastically sharp, and vivid photo with ease, in a true point and shoot style.
Neat, stylish, good quality
My sister-in-law had one when she visited in the summer. It was easy to use and download simple.
Then a good friend who is a keen photographer said what a neat, high resolution product it was and I was sold.
Bought one.
We love using it.
