Excellent! As practical as it gets
I bought this hard drive as a practical solution to back up my files and have not bee dissapointed! It is slightlty bigger than a passport and packs half a TB of capacity without any need for plugs, and most importantly NO external power source. I would recommend this wholeheartedly! Have not had any issues so far.

"Yes" if you require a no hassle portable 2.5" HDD 500GB solution.
It is very light in weight, with a slim plastic casing and is quiet in operation.

Be aware that you only get the HDD unit and a short USB cable. Nothing else, not even a protective case nor any backup software!

Come on Toshiba!, surely you can include a sleeve or something that helps to protect the device during transportation!!

Toshiba 500GB USB2.0 Portable Hard Drive - Frost White & Black Delighted with this slick, attractive high capacity 500GB portable storage device. I already use a similar Toshiba 320GB portable drive and purchased the 500GB for home PC backup. Simple to leave plugged in for automated backup, but also easy to remove periodically for safe, secure storage. Similar cost in terms of £/GB to the 320GB model at the moment but worth every penny. I just love it!
