Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 6 Collection - Part 2 [VHS] [1998]Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 6 Collection - Part 2 [VHS] [1998]
Buy used from: £2.66
Going backwards. Many diehard Buffy fans weren't fans by the time Season 6 concluded. Shame really. It wasn't THAT bad. A bit dubious, patchy and wanna-be 'gritty' and 'dark', but not AWFUL.

This set is worthwhile for the brilliant musical episode 'Once More, With Feeling' alone. One of the best hours of television in living memory. There are a couple of other cool episodes on here too..
Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 5 (Box Set 2) [VHS] [1998]Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 5 (Box Set 2) [VHS] [1998]
Buy used from: £0.68
Season 5 was heavily rumoured to be the last season (ending spectacularly as it does, it could easily have been.) The story of The Key is mysterious and compelling and Spike's new love is fascinating.

Fifth season kicked off in not-bad style with 'Buffy Vs. Dracula' (a kind of trick episode with one story, then a surprize ending.) It also includes the great History-of-Spike episode 'Fool For Love'.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 4 (Box Set 2) [VHS] [1998]Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 4 (Box Set 2) [VHS] [1998]
Buy used from: £1.19
Season 4 was the lightest and funniest season of Buffy. It suffered, however, from the loss of fan-fave Angel and the arrival of his dubious replacement Riley (the single dullest character EVER.)

S4, despite being held in contempt by a lot of hardcore Buffy fans for being too light (and too lacking in Angel..) contains many of the best stand-alone episodes in the shows history. (Plus Spike..)

Season 3 was dark. It dealt with dark things. It had a great main villain and a great bad girl in PVC trousers. It ended with every freaky teenagers school dream. Great stuff.

S3 kicked off quite drearily with Buffy AWOL in LA trying to escape her duties and her painful memories of Sunnydale. Things soon pick up though, not least with the arrival of new Slayer Faith..

The sense of 'Good God! Our show didnt get cancelled!' is palpable in the early part of Season 2. They really went all-out with plot twists, new characters and deeper delving into the shows mythology.

Ok, so Season 1 wasn't a masterpiece, but it had *heaps* of potential. Super creepy episodes like 'The Puppet Show' and weird-outs like 'Nightmares' are testements to where the show was headed. Cool.
