	Batman: Year One by Frank Miller Buy used from: £2.75 If you have to start somewhere, then this is the best place, not just because it tells batman's origin but in my mind it is the best Batman book you can get.
	Batman: Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller Buy new: £6.93 / Used from: £5.67 Regarded by most as the greatest batman novel. My second favorite. It is a classic story about Batman coming out of retirement in his fifties. This is the darkest bat book around.
	Batman: Long Halloween by Loeb Buy used from: £42.50 A great murder mystery following year one with all the best bat villains and shows the transformation of Harvey Dent into Two-Face.
	Batman: Dark Victory by Jeph Loeb Buy new: £10.62 / Used from: £8.08 The follow up to Halloween. Another great mystery. It shows the origin of Robin. Read it back to back with the long halloween
	Batman: The Killing Joke (Batman (DC Comics Paperback)) by Alan Moore Buy used from: £10.00 This is Joker at his best. One of the darkest bat novels. Batgirl gets paralised, Gordan gets tortured, and Batman laughs with the Joker. Plus the origin of the Clown Prince of Crime.
	Arkham Asylum: Living Hell by Dan Slott A criminal pleads insanity and gets sent to Arkham...bad idea. This shows all of bats foes at their best and most deadly.
	Batman: Gotham Central - In the Line of Duty by Ed Brubaker Buy used from: £23.99 NYPD Blue in Gotham city. See how the police deal with super villains in this exellent piece of work.
	Batman: Pt.1: Knightfall by Doug Moench Buy used from: £7.25 Leave your brain outside. This is not a great piece of writing or art but it is wall to wall action as Batman has to fight everyone from Arkham because Bain has released them all.
	Batman: Pt.2: Knightfall by Doug Moench Buy used from: £4.99 Keep your brain out there for the second part of this epic action trilogy.
	Batman: Knightsend by Doug Moench Buy used from: £18.90 Get ready to bring your brain back in for Batman is going to put an end to all the action with one last HUGE fight.
