Buy new: £47.99 / Used from: £44.98 A jumble of sections added to ad-hoc over the (many) years, but somehow makes it as an essential book. Join the SCI as a student (ca. £15) and they give you this free. Note: 6th ed. publ. 01/03 (h/b).

The Blue Book has section properties and member capacities to BS5950:2000. Maybe not too useful as an u/g, but it's free as an SCI student member. You'll regret it as a graduate if you don't get it.

Buy new: £40.64 / Used from: £38.37 Kong and Evans has been in print for 18 years (publ. 1985), but it is still one of the best books around on Reinforced Concrete. Technically sound, well-written and thorough.

Buy new: £11.60 / Used from: £11.53 This may not be on any undergraduate reading lists, but understanding the development of knowledge of the strength of materials is fundamental. And it's cheap at half the price.

Buy new: £71.20 / Used from: £77.92 Like Roark, in nearly every Company library with any dynamics background. Probably not worth buying your own copy, but it's surprising how many times the cry goes up: Has anyone seen Blevins?
