	A Guide to the Palace of Nestor: Mycenaean Sites in Its Environs and the Chora Museum (Guides) by Carl W. Blegen Buy used from: £3.36 Site guide. Updated from Blegen's original, with lots of nice colour pics. Ideal for A-Level studies.
	The Mycenaean Feast (Hesperia Supplement) Buy new: £15.00 Good on interpreting archaeological evidence in the 'light' of Homer.
	The Aegean Bronze Age (Cambridge World Archaeology) by Oliver Dickinson Buy new: £23.14 / Used from: £9.70 Detailed and authoritative. Unfortunately, doesn't break material down by period, but by topic.
	Aegean Art and Architecture (Oxford History of Art) by Donald Preziosi Buy new: £8.43 / Used from: £4.00 Beautifully illustrated, intelligent, readable and up-to-date.
	Minoan and Mycenaean Art (World of Art) by Reynold Higgins Buy new: £8.96 / Used from: £4.43 Out of date, but not bad as a basic intro. Lots of colour pictures.
	The Arts in Prehistoric Greece (Pelican History of Art) by Sinclair Hood Buy used from: £3.99 Again, a bit out of date and (as the review says) v art-historical. Lots of piccies tho'.
	Mycenae: Agamemnon's Capital - The Site in Its Setting by Elizabeth French Buy used from: £29.99 Good intro to site & to more modern aspects of Mycenaean archaeology, e.g. Mycenaean food project.
	The Decipherment of Linear B (Canto) by John Chadwick Buy new: £11.03 / Used from: £7.61 The classic account of Ventris' achievement by someone who ought to know!
	The Mycenaean World by John Chadwick Buy new: £18.99 / Used from: £2.72 Another slightly dated (but intelligent) work.
	Linear B and Related Scripts (Reading the Past) by John Chadwick Buy used from: £9.95 Good short intro into the mechanics of Linear B, and a brief idea of its social context.
	Linear B: An Introduction by J.T. Hooker Buy new: £12.99 / Used from: £12.98 Haven't read this, so can't judge. Hooker's no amateur, though.
	In Search of the Trojan War by Michael Wood Buy new: £11.69 / Used from: £2.99 A book that got me interested as a kid. Good intro to the arguments, tho' Wood tends to be a 'believer' too easily. Updated.
	In Search Of The Trojan War [DVD] [2004] Buy new: £12.88 / Used from: £10.00 Series of the book! (or vice versa). Looks dated (tight trousers! East Germans!). Same faults/virtues as book. Exyta has Wood discussing advances in knowledge since original.
	The World of Odysseus (New York Review Books Classics) by Moses I. Finley Buy new: £6.53 / Used from: £6.66 Another classic acount. A hugely influential discussion of the 'historical Homeric society' (or otherwise).
	The Mycenaean World (Classical World) by K. Wardle Buy new: £8.99 / Used from: £6.46 Personally, I think this is pretty awful (talks about religion without mentioning Linear B!) - but it's the A-Level set book (fer goodness sake).
	The Mycenaeans (Ancient Peoples & Places) by Lord William Taylour Buy used from: £7.02 Another dated intro (anyone fancy doing a new one?) but pretty readable, and by an authority. Avoid the religion chapter, though.
	Archaic Greece: New Approaches and New Evidence Buy new: £47.50 / Used from: £84.36 Excellent chapter on using Homer as a source. Maybe one day we can all afford it. Is the paper made of gold?
	The Ancient Greece of Odysseus (The Ancient World) by Peter Connolly Buy used from: £10.00 Reconstruction pictures!
	Bronze Age Warfare by Richard Osgood Buy used from: £28.17 Has a short chapter on Mycenaean warfare.
	Troy 1700-1250 BC (Fortress S.) by Nic Fields Buy new: £7.29 / Used from: £3.02 Nice reconstruction paintings. Includes findings of Korfmann's campaigns.
	Mycenaean Citadels C. 1350-1200 BC (Fortress) by Nic Fields Buy new: £9.85 / Used from: £4.95 One for the pictures. Not Osprey's best. Only really covers citadels, not wider towns. OK only.
	The Odyssey (Perennial Classics) by Homer Buy used from: £1.68 Is he writing about the Mycenaeans? Probably not. Still damn good.
	The Iliad by Homer Buy new: £8.06 / Used from: £1.20 Gristle, crunching bone, honour and heroism. Magnificent. Definitely NOT the book of the film (which still makes me shudder).
	The Golden Treasures of Troy: The Dream of Heinrich Schliemann (New Horizons) by HervÃ© DuchÃªne Buy new: £6.26 / Used from: £0.23 Well-illustrated, lucid intro to the subject. Plenty of material for the 'Schliemann: hero or villain' argument here.
