My favourite SF list
Rendezvous with RamaRendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke
Buy used from: £0.01
A compelling introduction that leads to a most mind-boggling book series-highly readable SF packed with action sequences, softness and hardcore SF. Compelling reading during the whole series of books.
3001: The Final Odyssey3001: The Final Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke
Buy new: £4.48 / Used from: £0.01
Depicting a future perspective based on extrapolating todays science. Maybe also a kind of "poor" ending to the puzzle starting with 2001. Didn't get me off my seat until 2061and 3001.
The Light of Other DaysThe Light of Other Days by Arthur C. Clarke
Buy new: £5.37 / Used from: £0.01
Far-out SF from a technological perspective but a compelling idea, leading to a perspective of the endless flow of time
Origin (Manifold)Origin (Manifold) by Stephen Baxter
Buy new: £5.46 / Used from: £0.01
The book series is playing with time/space and if pallell universes in a really huge scale combined with good personal stories is your thing, you should really try this one. Really hardcore SF.
Darwin's RadioDarwin's Radio by Greg Bear
Buy new: £5.46 / Used from: £0.01
3 stories over time interwoven by strands of DNA that give us a glimpse of the potentially huge aspects of of genetics and a possible Grand Design of all living things.
The TakingThe Taking by Dean Koontz
Buy new: £4.21 / Used from: £0.01
A chilling and truly Sphen King-like psychotic nightmare but truly excellent written story with some ideas origining from the Bible.
SaucerSaucer by Stephen Coonts
Buy used from: £0.01
An exciting fast-paced action packed "easy read" book. Not very hard-core SF but an entertaining read about an UFO found embedded in a desert rock..
Eon (S.F. Masterworks)Eon (S.F. Masterworks) by Greg Bear
Buy new: £5.98 / Used from: £0.59
Starting real and getting real virtual reality as a time/space phenomenon within "the stone" found above earth is explored. Resemblance with Rama but developed from a human future perspective.
Dead LinesDead Lines by Greg Bear
Buy used from: £0.01
I'm not sure here because it's a kind of sick story about phantoms and afterlife that are awakened by an invention that utilize twilight zone bandwith (really thin) but telling an interesting story.
