Biology, this book was my enemy from first year. Infact I sold it mid first-year. They recommend it as it's an all round "good-book," however I've found that a decent anatomy book is better.

Buy new: £35.94 / Used from: £39.99 This anatomy book I would recommend, focusses on human unlike Biology. It means you don't need to buy a new book for 2nd/3rd year and is very helpful for lectures and practicals.

Buy used from: £44.99 This is the best book for Carol Ainley's lectures on Pathology, The one she recommends is very basic and doesn't have very good pictures. It is also useful for Pathology lab practicals.

Buy new: £47.87 / Used from: £34.50 This is the book perfect for introduction to microbiology. Dr.Craig recommends it and I do too. It is pricey but will help you through 1st year Micro.
