	Notes On A Scandal [DVD] [2007] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £1.45 Stunning movie with two top-of-their-game actresses literally eating up the screen - backed up by superb support cast especially Bill Nighy. Robbed at the Oscars.
	Shall We Dance? [DVD] [2004] Buy new: £5.98 / Used from: £1.98 Hardly highbrow, hardly Shakespeare - who cares! One of the most delicious and heart-warming watches of the last few years - ballroom dancing and romance.
	Infamous [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £2.98 / Used from: £2.24 Toby Jones is sensationally good as the insufferable intellect that was Truman Capote. Daniel Craig all brute menace - more engaging than "Capote" - makes you care about a very frothy man.
	The Namesake [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £5.48 / Used from: £5.00 Five stars. Adored it. See review.
	Little Children [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £2.98 / Used from: £1.82 A difficult watch worth the difficulty. The actor who plays the town paedophile is soo good as to make your skin crawl - literally. And Winslet in a class of her own.
	The Painted Veil [DVD] [2007] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £1.49 Slow old-fashioned realisation of "Love In A Time Of Cholera" book - with Norton and Watts perfectly cast - backed by superb Toby Jones, Diana Rigg & Chinese locals. Class act-beautifully filmed too.
	Black Book [2006] [DVD] Buy new: £7.68 / Used from: £4.34 Brilliant World War II drama about a traitor in the Resistance selling out Jews for cash and their belongings with promises of freedom.
	Crash (2 Disc Directors Cut) [2004] [DVD] [2005] Buy new: £6.88 / Used from: £2.98 Stunning race-relations study with an amazing cast - many against type - and all given room to shine in something important.
	United 93 [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £4.38 / Used from: £0.36 Sensational depiction of the plane and passengers who fought back - some of the best pacing and editing I've ever seen - literally breathtaking. A masterpiece.
	Death To Smoochy [DVD] [2002] Buy used from: £11.75 Stunner with Robin Williams in full anarchic flow. It's about a child TV presenter who's caught being corrupt and loses his job - replaced by a sweet-as-pie Edward Norton - Smoochy. Rude, crude & fun.
	Babel (2 Disc Collector's Edition) [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.10 Brilliant and infuriating at the same time; many different stories in different countries yet all connected. Amazing cast of unknowns. Beauty soundtrack too by "Motorcyle Diaries" Gustavo Santaolalla.
	Children Of Men (2-disc Special Edition) [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £4.48 / Used from: £0.98 Awesome depiction of a future 18 years from now where all women in the world are sterile and the planet goes to pot. Until one woman is given to Clive Owen to protect and get to the "Human Project".
	The Departed (2006) [DVD] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.00 Good mob movie, but best film?? Still Matt Damon is a revelation, and Nicholson never ceases to amaze. Nice work by all the cast.
	Imagine Me And You [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £3.88 / Used from: £2.28 Gorgeous rom-com movie with a delicious twist - I loved it - predict will be a cult classic for years. Piper Perabo and Lena Headey - yum yum yum!
	Amazing Grace [DVD] [2007] Buy new: £4.68 / Used from: £3.90 English hero William Wilberforce and his lifelong struggle to abolish the abomination of the slave trade in Britain and its colonies. The pipes play that song at the end and the tears flow.
	Stranger Than Fiction [DVD] [2006] Buy used from: £1.37 Loved it - Emma Thompson and Will Farrell perfectly cast along with Glynnenhal and Hoffman - there was something immensely uplifting about this. Bought it.
	The Pursuit Of Happyness [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £1.11 Borderline cheesy in places for sure, but Smith is a great actor when given the right material - and his boy plays a stormer too. Uplifting for all the right reasons.
	Inside Man [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £2.98 / Used from: £0.48 Superb thriller about a bank heist with deep dark secrets in its plush Manhattan vaults that some would not want the world to know about. Denzel the business. Clive Owen finally a star.
	The Constant Gardener [DVD] [2005] Buy new: £8.38 / Used from: £0.01 Brutal but amazing. Both Weisz and Fiennes are fantastic in this sad re-telling of a woman with courage and convictions, who meets a man with the same.
	Munich [DVD] [2005] Buy used from: £0.43 Another difficult watch kept difficult and detached on purpose by Director Spielberg. Israel's wounds and hatreds opened & dissected. Powerful stuff and admirable.
	The Sea Inside [DVD] [2005] Buy new: £4.88 / Used from: £3.49 Javier Bardem as the immobile paraplegic trying to end his sterile life with dignity but met with courts and moral deflectors who are not in his awful predicament. Very moving.
	Off The Black [2006] [DVD] Buy new: £14.98 / Used from: £3.33 Nolte is a baseball-coach way too friendly with tins of beers by night & barely holding it together on the pitch by day - enter a kid who changes his world. An indie film with a major heart.
