	The Complete Fawlty Towers [1975] [DVD] Buy new: £11.98 / Used from: £11.49 Only 12 episodes ever written but forever remembered as a truly British classic. John Cleese is inspired as the hapless Basil Fawlty. Prunella Scales is also superb as his long suffering wife!
	Porridge - Series One [1974] [DVD] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.19 Another comedy that has the brilliant Ronnie Barker in his most famous role. Norman Stanley Fletcher. Richard Beckinsale and Fulton McKay make this programme even more watchable. Fabulously written.
	Going Straight - The Complete Series [DVD] [1978] Buy new: £6.98 / Used from: £6.73 Excellent spin off with Fletch trying to go straight. Richard Beckinsale again reprises his role as Godber, Nick Lyndhurst is hilarious with his 'what time is it?' & 'has anyone seen my bicycle pump?'
	The Good Life - Complete [DVD] [1975] Buy used from: £279.99 Couldn't have wished for better lead actors in this series which has to be my fave 70's comedy. Written by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey, this series defines the 70's for me. Brilliant.
	Butterflies: Complete BBC Series Collection (8 Disc Box Set) [DVD] Wendy Craig and the brilliant Geoffrey Palmer star in Carla Lane's comedy loosely based on Brief Encounter. My fave scenes are every meal time, the look of horror on what's on the plate is priceless!
	The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin : The Complete BBC Series Collection [1976] [DVD] Buy used from: £34.99 Leonard Rossiter is up there with Ronnie Barker as one of the best comedy actors ever. Here he plays Reggie Perrin who is just fed up with everything in his life and strives for excitement in any form
	Morecambe & Wise - Christmas Specials [DVD] Buy new: £14.98 / Used from: £13.45 Christmas just wouldn't have been Christmas without Morecambe & Wise. This has all the best sketches featuring Glenda Jackson, Shirley Bassey and the best with Andrew Preview! Classic entertainment.
	The Complete Open All Hours - Series One-Four [1976] Buy new: £18.28 Another masterpeice by Ronnie Barker, the tightfisted, stuttering Arkwright is probably his best comic creation. Linda Baron and David Jason are superb support acts to the undisputed master of comedy.
	All Creatures Great & Small - Series 1 - Volume 1 [1978] [DVD] Buy new: £9.98 / Used from: £9.00 More Sunday stuff with James Herriott's novels being brought to life by the wonderful Christopher Timothy, Peter Davidson and Robert Hardy. "It's stagnation at lung I tell thee!!"
	When The Boat Comes In - Series 1 [1976] [DVD] Buy new: £37.07 / Used from: £29.99 James Bolam stars as Jack Ford a returning war hero to his native north east where he tries to fit in to society. Superb performances all round. 'Dance Ti Thy Daddy' a classic theme tune also.
	Tom Brown's Schooldays [1971] [DVD] Buy new: £9.98 / Used from: £5.24 This dramatisation of the classic novel is probably the one I remember most. I was only 6 when I watched it and Richard Morant's Flashman scared me to death!
	Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em: The Complete Collection [1973] [DVD] Buy used from: £79.95 Michael Crawford is inspired as the hopeless Frank Spencer, some of the stunts are truly breathtaking when you realise he did them all himself. I've only just noticed how gorgeous Michelle Dotrice is!
	Starsky And Hutch - Series 1 - Complete [DVD] [1976] Buy new: £10.98 / Used from: £2.15 As I was allowed to stay up later the wonderful world of fast and colourful American shows caught the eye. This was as good as it got for a police drama. David Soul & Paul Michael Glaser starred.
	Citizen Smith: Series 1 and 2 [DVD] [1977] Buy new: £10.58 / Used from: £5.00 Written by John Sullivan and watched by an incredible 26 million people this sitcom follows the life of Wolfie a self proclaimed Urban Guerrilla in Tooting! Robert Lindsay is inspired in the lead role
	Roots: The Original Series 1 - 25th Anniversary Edition (3 Disc Box Set) [1977] [DVD] Buy new: £9.77 / Used from: £7.98 This is imperitive viewing for all ages, it should be shown again in it's entirety to highlight once more the terrible history of slavery and how black American's came to be. Just superb drama.
	Dukes of Hazzard - Series 1 [DVD] Buy new: £9.98 / Used from: £4.46 Saturday evenings were fab in the late 70's and early 80's with Bo & Luke Duke with the gorgeous Daisy played by Catherine Bach. James Best stole the show with his Sherriff Roscoe P Coltrane character
	Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads - The Very Best Of Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads [DVD] [1973] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £1.47 Absolutely loved this series, brilliantly written by Dick Clement & Ian La Frenais follows the lives of Bob and Terry. I find it amazing that Rodney Bewes and James Bolam have not spoken since.
	The Liver Birds - Series 2 [DVD] [1971] Buy used from: £16.00 Great series following the lives of Beryl and Sandra sharing a flat in Liverpool and charting their lives of family and boyfriend troubles. Nerys Hughes and Polly James star in Carla Lane's comedy.
	It Ain't Half Hot Mum - Complete Series One to Four [DVD] Buy new: £16.28 / Used from: £15.85 This along with The Good Life has to be my fave comedy of the 70's, so many characters to like, my favourite's being the Windsor Davies, Donald Hewlett and Michael Knowles's characters.
	Last of the Summer Wine - Series 3 & 4 [1976] [DVD] [1973] Buy new: £9.98 / Used from: £4.99 The fact that this sitcom has spanned 3 decades now is testament to the genius of Roy Clarke. Every time we lose a character, it's like losing a member of the family, such is the familiarity.
	Not The Nine O'Clock News - The Best Of Not The Nine O'Clock News - Vol. 1 [DVD] [1979] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £3.83 Can't forget this series, without it we may not know Rowan Atkinson, Griff Rhys Jones, Mel Smith and Pamela Anderson. Groundbreaking comedy on a par with Python a decade earlier.
	Holocaust [DVD] [1978] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] Buy used from: £23.41 This series will haunt me forever, originally seen when I was 13 the total horror of the holocaust is brought to the screen with acute accuracy. Meryl Streep and James Woods make early appearances.
	Dave Allen - The Best Of [DVD] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £3.24 Dave Allen is sadly missed in my house, his dry view of the world was classic comedy. Its the sit down stuff that is mesmerising. May your God go with you!
	Dad's Army - The Complete Collection [DVD] Buy new: £29.98 What a cast, where do you begin to admire the talent on display. Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurer, John Laurie, Bill Pertwee, Clive Dunn the list is endless. Very British, Very Funny!
	Get Some In! - Series 1 - Complete [DVD] [1975] Buy new: £7.88 / Used from: £6.49 John Esmonde & Bob Larbey's superb comedy/drama about the RAF in the 50's is brutally honest, Robert Lindsay in his first TV role. Tony Selby plays the cold drill instructor who depresses everyone!
