The weakest of the four Chandler novels I've read. Although Marlowe is more vulnerable and less witty, which adds another dimension to this great character. But Farewell my Lovely is a better book.

Probably a little drawn out, as the essential concept is explained in about two chapters, the rest of padding. But it's a good read nevertheless, and good explanation of what's happening in the tail.

A journey into the heart of the Congo, and the depths of the mind. It's pretty grim, but if you've seen Apocolypse Now and enjoyed it, you'll want to read this.
