My favourite films as of today, in no particular order

	The Green Mile [DVD] [2000] Buy new: £2.98 / Used from: £2.00 My new favourite over the Shawshank Redemption, really paints a vivid picture of prison in the 1930s
	The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Extended Edition Box Set) [DVD] Buy new: £14.98 / Used from: £20.00 There is no point in buying the theatrical version anymore. The extended version fills in many gaps in the story and is all done at the highest quality.
	On Her Majesty's Secret Service [DVD] [1969] One of the lesser appreciated Bond films, George Lazenby does a brilliant English accent despite being Australian and delivers a very moving performance.
	The Rocky Horror Picture Show (2 Disc Special Edition) [1975] [DVD] Buy new: £6.57 / Used from: £3.66 A great example of 1970s wacky cinema. The special effects seem very primative to us now but were top of the range in '75, some very catchy tunes in there too!
	Oliver! (Special Edition) [DVD] [1968] Buy used from: £2.49 This film is always guarunteed to cheer me up, Ron Moody gives a flawless performance and despite Mark Lester's rather pathetic charater the film makes me feel really good.
	Monty Python's 'Meaning of Life' [DVD] [1983] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £1.01 From the machine that goes 'PING' to live organ transplants, Monty Python delivers a brilliantly controversial and hilariously obscure film.
	The Shawshank Redemption [DVD] [1995] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £2.79 Although not as good as the Green Mile this story is brilliantly told by some of the best actors of modern cinema
	The Dark Knight (2 Discs) [DVD] [2008] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.98 THE film of 2008, despite the Heath Ledger related hype this film really delivered and is an excellent example of post-modern attitudes to the idea of heroes
	Watership Down [DVD] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.99 I've loved this ever since childhood and despite what I can only describe as drug-induced animation sequences this film has a really poignant message, and is also a good allegory for political regimes
	Cats - Ultimate Edition [DVD] [1998] Buy new: £14.98 / Used from: £10.97 What a musical, the cast in this is fantastic with Ken and Elaine Paige and even Christian from Eastenders (John Partridge as the Rum Tum Tugger)
	Casino Royale [2006] [DVD] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £1.64 The best Bond comeback since Live and Let Die. Craig really reconstructed Bond for the 21st century after Brosnan's crucifixion of the character in the 1990s. Quantum of Solace was unfortunate.
