	Danny the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl Buy new: £3.90 / Used from: £0.71 It never ceases to amaze me how much this book is loved - by boys especially. I wonder if it is the wonderful relationship between Danny and his father that is so compelling.
	Guess Who's Coming for Dinner? by Cathy Tincknell Buy new: £4.49 / Used from: £0.01 A really smart book. Children love spotting the details in both the pictures and text that give clues to the underlying plot.
	The Angel of Nitshill Road by Anne Fine Buy new: £3.70 / Used from: £0.93 Anne Fine is a brilliant writer. This book is about bullying and I have had classes where behaviour has been changed just through sharing this story.
	The Story of Everything by Neal Layton Buy new: £8.41 / Used from: £2.58 I have just had to replace this one as it was so well used! It's a manic look at Darwin/evolution/Big Bang in a pop-up format. A bit Monty Python style in its illustrations.
	Burglar Bill (Picture Puffin) by Allan Ahlberg Buy new: £4.28 / Used from: £1.85 Ahlberg is brilliant as ever
	The Kingfisher First Picture Atlas [With Poster] by Deborah Chancellor Buy used from: £1.50 Strange I know - the boys again!
	Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown Buy new: £2.95 / Used from: £0.01
	Mr.Wolf's Pancakes (Picture Mammoth) by Jan Fearnley Buy used from: £0.01 A take on The Little Red Hen story with a twist at the end. Hilarious!
	George and the Dragon by Christopher Wormell Buy new: £3.97 / Used from: £0.01 As the adult reader you need to watch the pictures here or you'll completely miss the point. The children always get it.
	Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak Buy new: £4.02 / Used from: £1.85 An obvious choice I know but still very much loved. This perhaps works on an unconcious level and I have known some troubled kids to really take to it.
	Whoops! But it Wasn't Me (Charlie and Lola) by Lauren Child Buy new: £5.99 / Used from: £0.01 And indeed all Charlie and Lola books
	The Lost Treasure of the Green Iguana: A Jungle Maze Adventure (Explorers' Club) by Judith Rossell Buy used from: £1.49 There are children in my class who hide this book under the cushions (that's not allowed!) just to make sure they can get it at the next reading session.
