U2 Albums, Best to Worst:
How To Dismantle An Atomic BombHow To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb by U2
Buy new: £6.58 / Used from: £0.96
Excellent from start to finish. Just because it's the baby of the bunch doesn't mean it's not brilliant.
The Joshua TreeThe Joshua Tree by U2
Buy new: £12.28 / Used from: £1.45
Everybody's favourite, Bono was at his best vocally, but overall not as polished as H.T.D.A.A.B.
Achtung BabyAchtung Baby by U2
Buy new: £6.58 / Used from: £1.26
Their "serious" album. On a par with Joshua Tree, but somebody had to come third.
WarWar by U2
Buy used from: £1.44
Their saving grace album. Raw, passionate, and overall more rocky than their previous two offerings.
All That You Can't Leave BehindAll That You Can't Leave Behind by U2
Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £0.24
The first album on the list to contain filler material. Some really good songs.....and then there's 'Elevation'! Which should have been saved for 'Passengers 2' really in my opinion.
The Unforgettable FireThe Unforgettable Fire by U2
Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £1.61
Again, vocally brilliant. You can really hear Brian Eno's influence. Excellent by any other band's standards but mediochre for a U2 album.
PopPop by U2
Buy new: £9.18 / Used from: £0.98
Evidence of U2's constant ability to re-invent themsleves. Spawned more singles than any of their other relases, but that doesn't make it a great album. PLAY IT LOUD!
BoyBoy by U2
Buy used from: £1.45
A strong debut, for such a young band especially. Some very personal songs. Well worth a listen just to see how much the band has grown.
Under A Blood Red SkyUnder A Blood Red Sky by U2
Buy used from: £1.20
Their only live album, which really manages to sum up what the band was all about then. It's about time they brought this one out on DVD.
ZooropaZooropa by U2
Buy new: £6.38 / Used from: £1.14
A couple of good songs, which probably could have been included on Achtung Baby really. The rest of the album is fairly weak.
Rattle And HumRattle And Hum by U2
Buy new: £9.48 / Used from: £0.98
This would have worked better as a completely live CD. If you're considering this one get the DVD instead. A brilliant bit of film-making that didn't really need an accompanying album.
OctoberOctober by U2
Buy used from: £0.77
Their second album, and the one that could have broken them. The songs are weak, the whole production was rushed, and you can tell the band's heart wasn't really in it.
