A really smart book. Children love spotting the details in both the pictures and text that give clues to the underlying plot

For older children/young adults perhaps - an insight into how disorientating and indeed frightening it could be to be an immigrant in a strange land depicted through surreal illustrations.

I have just had to replace this one as it was so well used! It's a manic look at Darwin/evolution/Big Bang in a pop-up format. Quite Monty Python in its style of illustration.

Again the illustrations are a work of art. This could be really useful in engaging intelligent older boys who have difficulties with literacy. Very street-wise

A disarmingly honest look at sadness and grief

Very creative! Deals with diversity, being different and it's good to be smart - which is worth saying, I think!

The pictures are surreal and perhaps even a little disturbing so you may need to be careful of your audience. Watch out for the red leaf on each page though - there IS always hope.
