![]() | Economics: with Net Tutor password card and Interactive Student Workbook access card by David Begg
Buy new: £39.23 / Used from: £34.99 Currently the recommended text for Econ101 (as of 2007/8). Not much different to Sloman; I didn't find any of the textbooks particularly important in first year as the lecture notes were adequate

![]() | Quantitative Methods for Business and Management by Frank Dewhurst
Buy new: £31.14 / Used from: £18.00 This book gets a bad review on Amazon because someone recieved it in bad condition. My copy was purchased from Amazon as well and arrived in new condition. Not a great book really, unclear at times.

![]() | Intermediate Microeconomics: A Modern Approach by Hal R. Varian
Buy new: £33.49 / Used from: £32.99 The intermediate microeconomic text book used at Lancaster. Good text, however it lacks the derivations and technical details required for the 201 course. Nice complement to lecture material though.
|

|
![]() | Macroeconomics by N. Gregory Mankiw
Buy new: £45.08 / Used from: £38.00 Used in the interrmediate macroeconomics course last year, athough there's a new European version due soon. Too many words!! No enough focus on the key material. Overly based on the US economy
