Customer Reviews

Hed Kandi are back on form with sunny vocal house collection5
After a huge slump in quality across the Hed Kandi titles, this album suggests a real return to their previous form (shimmering, melodic vocal house). Side One ('Sunshine Disc') is upbeat dance music all the way that delivers exactly what you hope for from 'Beach House'. After getting off to a fairly bland start, the latin influence really gets going with Afro Medusa's 'Oracle' and Cuba Libre's lovely 'Identity'. Closing track 'I've Changed' by Thomas Toccafondi has a nagging riff and bassline that is immediately appealing. Side Two ('Sunset Disc') is a more varied selection and includes the album's best tracks. Standouts are the slower, reflective but life-affirmingly joyful 'Everything is Alright' by Rasmus Faber and the widescreen progressive house of 'This Way' by Hollis P Monroe. Candy Apple's 'Leaving You' takes things into melancholy, haunting territory (with mournful piano breaks & jazzy brass stabs) and it's great to get this kind of diversity. Overall, it's a fantastic collection to soundtrack the summer - generally uplifting but varied in both tone & musical styles. Most importantly, it's not afraid to emphasise melody over bassline.

Simply Stunning5
I agree wholeheartedly with TrueColours 09, this is a fantatstic return to form and by far the best HK album in years..Sunny, latin, balearic vibes from beginning to end and what you want at this time of year..original tracks and sounds..A gem..let's hope this keeps up...Mr Doyle take note please

Utterly Summerlicious5
As I speak, we're having a great Summer (for now!) and this has been in my car for days, just non-stop. Great summery vibes and a touch of Latin too.

Didn't like the World Series - Brasil disc at all (far too electro for me) so this is a great return to form.

BUY IT!
