Classic FM Summer Guitar
A 2 disc classical guitar album - I find this album preferable to its predecessor 'Classic FM Guitar' - the outstanding track on that one was I think 'Farewell to Stromness' - however this current album is in my view easier on the ear - subjective though - it does in the main deliver what it's supposed to do - it sounds 'summery' as opposed to the previous album which was an album for 'all seasons' so to speak. I would have bought this for disc 2 alone as to my view it has all the best tracks - Clair de Lune, Georgia On My Mind, Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunte in particular are, to me, exceptionally beautiful - however there are plenty of other fine tracks - what I don't get though is the Beatles selection of 'Ticket To Ride' - although the playing and interpretation was faultless - why that track? As a member of 'The Beatles generation' I've always thought that this particular track was pretty average - there must be far more worthy tracks for classical guitar adaption - the choice on the previous album - Harrisons 'Here Comes The Sun' was a bit more suitable. Overall a really pleasant album to relax to - makes me want to stop trying to play jazz and blues guitar and aspire to classical - no chance!

This is excellent value and, like other Classic FM CDs I have purchased very well recorded. I particularly enjoyed listening to the new pieces specially composed for the CD and especially the one written by John Brunning who is also my favourite presenter on Classic FM. However, the music is not just the usual hackneyed mixture put together by all too many record companies.
Relax
Great relaxing music with a very gentle feel to it.Not only for the Summer alfresco meal but for a comfortable ,welcoming dinner party.
