DVD Description
Ross Kemp returns to Afghanistan in this sequel to the award-winning and critically acclaimed documentary series Ross Kemp in Afghanistan. Regarded as one of the most significant pieces of television on the conflict so far, Ross Kemp - Return to Afghanistan continues to be an eye-opening account of a soldier’s life on Britain’s frontline.
In the hot summer of 2008 Ross is embedded with British troops in the recently captured town of Musa Qaleh. It’s the centre of some of the fiercest fighting of the conflict. Here, in the densely vegetated, claustrophobic green zone the Taliban mount ambush after ambush. Graphic, high definition images capture every moment of each battle as the troops push the Taliban back defending the town from enemy occupation. Off the battlefield the soldiers have time to reflect on their enemy, life as a soldier and losing friends under enemy fire.
In the final programme of the series Ross meets the unsung heroes of the conflict, young soldiers who have lost limbs to mine strikes who now face an uncertain future. And, in the winter months of 2009 Ross travels back to Afghanistan, first to Kabul and then onto Kajaki where he joins the Royal Marines on their winter tour.

Ross Kemp.Return to Afghanistan
Once again Ross shows he is not just an actor. He has the respect of the soldiers he is attached to and shows he is not afraid to go where they go.Well maybe a little. His emotions show through clearly but despite this he gets in there 'Down and dirty with the lads and presents to the viewer and more importantly to the government what our fighting soldiers have to put up with on a daily basis. He does not go out of his way to make a political statement. This is about our servicemen and women in the brown stuff and doing a good job.Everyone a bloody hero. The program is exciting and well made and any awards it gets will be well earned.Well done Ross and crew.
TEAR IN MY EYE!!
Once again brillant TV viewing from Mr Kemp and our British soldiers in Afghanistan. If you want to see what are boy's get up to on the frontline watch this it's not a film it's for real. Well done Ross Kemp you are a bigger man than me I could not do that full stop, as for the soldiers all hero's and they deserve alot more than what they are getting now. I will say watching this I had a tear in my eye at times very moving when he was meeting the mums and dads of the fallen soldiers.
A winner for Ross Kemp
Having purchased the first DVD I waited with interest for the sequel - and I was not disappointed. This one is much grittier than it's predecessor and (if you didn't get the impression before) Ross Kemp shows a deep concern and respect for the people and events going on in Afghanistan.
