Swordfish 500DC Diamond-cut Shredder
I have found this to be an excellent little shredder. Compact and efficient, it is ideal for home and small office use, and the diamond cut is ultra-secure.

From the engineering viewpoint close inspection of the mechanism is encouraging - well designed and well made. I do NOT ask it to eat umpteen sheets of paper all at once, nor do I feed it very heavy material.

In other words I treat it with the care which befits its size, and I oil it regularly with Swordfish lubrication sachets. I am more than satisfied with it in every respect.

A disappointment
The mechanism of the first 500D I bought failed after five months despite careful use and lubrication. The replacement machine lasted eight months.

I feel the shredding mechanism on the machine is only suitable for the lightest of domestic use and then only if the machine is carefully cleaned and lubricated. I would not recommend it.

Swordfish 500DC Shredder
Lasted 3 months light use before giving up the ghost. I shall not buy another.
