Product Description
At gadgetshop HQ, we like swimming as much as the next chap, but a few of us must confess to being slightly befuddled about this undoubtedly smart and attractive contraption for smart and attractive people. For it's a swimming pool that one can't actually swim in. Apparently the objective is to pose about in it looking cool while one is simultaneously blasted by 80 individual turbo massage jets of hot water. It takes all sorts. Let's jolly well get to the detail. The Lay-Z-Spa Pool is a full function hot tub that has the advantage of being fully portable and dashed cost-effective to boot. It will take only ten minutes to set-up and a touch longer to heat right through, before comfortably seating up to three of the most gorgeous people in your life, plus your wife or girlfriend. Simultaneously heating, circulating and filtering the water, this clever pump-inflated beast holds up to 230 gallons of water and weighs in at almost a metric tonne when filled. So it's not going anywhere in a hurry. Yet it collapses down for complete portability should you need to create an impromptu pool party at a chum's flat. And, while an advanced control system monitors all the pool's vital processes, you can ponce about like a proper pimp, reflective shades, strawberry daiquiri and all. Next stop, Hello! photoshoot...

Manufacturer's Description
Now you can enjoy a relaxing spa without the need for a costly or permanent installation. New for 2006 the Lay Z spa is manufactured by Bestway and is completely portable taking just 10 minutes to assemble. (Filling and heating of water takes longer)
Once assembled the automated control system will circulate the water, heat it up to 40 degrees C and force it through the 80 turbo micro air jets. The combined heater and pump unit has a digital display and simply plugs into a normal household 240V socket. This unit not only circulates and heats the water but also cycles the water through the built in filtration system. The pump unit is also used to inflate the pool itself saving time and effort.
The pool also comes complete with a soft locking cover which insulates the water as well as keeping unwanted debris from the spa when not in use.
For the safety of all users we recommend that correct sanitisation procedures (detailing in instructions) are followed using a suitable chemical kit (supplied by Bestway or other reputable manufacturers).
The high quality products have full manufacturer back up via phone or website (details supplied) allowing the purchase of accessories, spare parts and cleaning products as well as helping with any customer queries.
Customer Reviews
One of the best things I've every bought!
I really didn't know what to expect from the lay-z-spa... however, I've got to say it's exceeded my expectations.... it's great!!!
Setting up was very easy and the pump inflates the spa in a matter of minutes. It takes a few hours to fill with water and then it's ready to go... Yes it's a bit slow to heat up the water, but once it's done it maintains the temperature very well.
The first time I switched on the air jets was great! So many air bubbles from the 80 air jets. 4 adults can fit in with room to spare and it's very comfy too.
For the price, this is a great buy.
Ace!
Ive been looking for a spa for ages but didnt want to spend a fortune - this is great!! Agree it takes a while to heat up, overnight really but once its to temparature its fantastic. Loads of room, bubbles are great, it is a bit noisy when the bubbles are on but if its late at night and you dont want to disturb the neighbours you can always leave the bubbles off - its still enjoyable to sit in. Was gonna buy a 'proper' spa when id saved up but hink ill keep this one now!
Yes the pump.
Firstly I will say i have time and dertermination to make it work. I have run the spa constantly for 10 months since August and can tell you the follow,
cost around £5-10 a week to run.
once warm, you only need to warm up for 8 hrs max, I do 08:00 to 14:00 & 18:00 to 20:00 most days, on timmer to switch off, but manual on. If away, you need to accept that will take a few 8 hrs to warm back up.
Have 2 fillters on the go one in, one clean and do every day!
Keep a check on the chemical levals weekly.
do not over inflate lid and top ring especially.
If keeping out in winter and rain, constucted a box around the pump and water proof & insulate it!
The main reason the heater stops working is to do with the micro switch that detects the water leval. If it stops working try putting your finger over the outline for a while to let the presser in the pump built up and then release. Might help.
I have modified two pumps which had the same problem one was a sticking switch and the other the rubber cover for the micro switch had broken.
For liabillity reasons I can not tell you what I did to modify the pump but that switch is a pain!
