Customer Reviews
A very good resource for safety practitioners and laymen.
"Ridley's" as it is known among practitioners, is a reliable and well-written resource covering all of the main features of Safety Law.
It goes further than simply quoting law, it helps the practioner understand the requirements. Written after many years of practical experience, Ridley's manages to be practical too.
If it has a weakness, it is that we do not see much guidance of how to deal with apethetic management.
I used it as a study resource and I continue to use it as a consultant.
Invaluable guidance for safety professionals
This book serves a dual role. On one hand it is an excellent reference text for the safety professional or small company owner, while on the other it gives students studying for their NEBOSH certificates or diplomas more than enough information to provide the technical grounding required. The book is split into easily referenced sections covering the majority of basic safety aspects. The use of language makes the book understandable for those not used to health and safety, while still providing the detail that is needed by a safety professional. The one criticism is that some of the text and images used portray an aged vision, back to the days of heavy industry. This edition of the book attempts to start addressing more of the personal and behaviour factors in safety, but barely scratches the surface in that respect.
