Synopsis
In this DANTE'S COVE spin-off, an enterprising journalist investigates a rash of murders in a small island town: all of them young men with mysterious wounds on their necks. But nothing prepares him for the dark world of the Lair, a sinister all-male club somehow connected with these crimes. Helmed by the prolific Fred Olen Ray (HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS), this erotic vampire miniseries offers a seductive treat for viewers to sink their teeth into. Included here are all six episodes.

No it's not Dante's Cove - But So What?
If you were hoping for another Dante's Cove you will not be happy with The Lair. If you want escapist entertainment then this is for you. I loved it. Aside from the many very buff guys spending a lot of time wearing very little and doing gratuitous things to each other, this is actually a fairly well written series.

There is some wonderful humour (look out for the Deputy in the last episode saying one of the stupidest and funniest lines ever) and there are some lovely plot twists that, I have to admit, caught me out once or twice.

This isn't shakespeare, but it is fun and I can't wait for Series 2.

If you like Dante's Cove you'll love this!
Coming from the creators of Dante's Cove, I had a good idea of what to expect with this and The Lair totally lived up to expectations! The show (which is a total mix of genres including horror, erotic, drama and high camp!) is set around an all-male sex club where things are not quite as they seem. It soon transpires that the club is populated by a bunch of blood-thirsty vampires who are killing of the town's gay heaving population one-by-one! The actors won't be troubling the Emmys anytime soon but there are some solid turns from the likes of Peter Stickles (Shortbus) and porn superstar Colton Ford as the local sherrif. Those looking for a good dose of sexy mindless fun along the well-trodden lines of Dante's Cove should definitely take a look, and with Season Three already filmed this looks set to run and run!

NOT Dante's Cove
Imagine a series of 25 minute episodes with a group of decidedly average looking guys, with dodgy bodies doing non-erotic soft core porn placed round a script which is so obvious as to be insulting and you'll have The Lair. I loved Dante's Cove for its campness and bad script but it always had a few twists up its sleeve and lots of eye candy, something severaly lacking here. Just another excuse to insult a gay audience's intelligence. We're not all undemanding, shallow, screaming queens who shriek at the sight at the sight of bit of male flesh.
