Serial fiancee and struggling artist Lila Barton lives with her family in a dilapidated mansion. Penniless, directionless and having sworn off men, Lila is delighted to land a job working for her famous godfather who is directing a star-studded charity production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. She is even more thrilled to learn that Hollywood heart-throb Mitch Clayton will be one of the stars, although she's promised her sister she won't get engaged again ...this year at least! But avoiding Mitch's advances is proving tricky. And then there's Mitch's stepbrother, Johnny, the Cinderfella of the Clayton clan. It turns out he's a man of many secrets and Lila can't help but be intrigued.

Another fun gem from this new author
The Cinderella Effect proved the perfect antidote to a gloomy, recession hit winter. I loved the poverty stricken Barton family and heroine Lila's spirited attempts to stay solvent and single. The hero, Johnny is absolutely gorgeous and the perfect foil to goofy but lovable Lila. This is a funny, charming and deliciously romantic read.
Disappointing
Nice story, with lots of potential, but the writing style was certainly not what I expected. Not really bad, but not good either.
Entertainingly funny
The Cinderella Effect
I found this book to be extremely enjoyable and funny. A very relaxing summer read. It is a light read to keep your mind off from day to day problems for at least a few hours. I recommend it if you enjoy a modern but not too unrealistic fairy tale.
